The Opportunity
We're seeking a Data Scientist to join our team and play a key role in leveraging our rich data assets to drive insights and innovation. Your work will directly help charity clients improve their fundraising outcomes—boosting both donation amounts and participation in fundraising events—as well as refine our own platform performance. Reporting to the Analytics & Optimisation Lead, you'll collaborate with others across the organisation to develop data-led product features and analysis tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sophisticated statistical analysis to uncover patterns and opportunities in fundraising data
- Mine, interpret, and clean our data – ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover hidden opportunities to realise the data's full potential
- Analyse data for trends and patterns, and interpret data with clear objectives focused on improving nonprofit fundraising
- Build high-quality prediction systems integrated with our products to enhance fundraising capabilities
- Develop analytical models in collaboration with Product and Development teams
- Devise and utilise algorithms and models to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
- Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams in the development and expansion of data products that advance our mission of empowering nonprofits
Required For This Role:
- Degree in a relevant discipline – Data Science, Statistics, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in data science roles
- Hands-on experience with Tableau / Tableau Prep for initial data cleaning and analysis
- Hands-on experience with AWS data services (Athena, S3, and data lake technologies)
- Strong proficiency with Python and SQL
- Proven expertise in predictive modeling and analytics
- Self-Directed Worker - You thrive when working independently and manage your priorities
It would be a bonus if you had
- Proficiency with R
- Familiarity with PHP
- Experience with reporting and data visualisation tools such as Amazon QuickSight or Tableau
