The Oportunity
As an Web Developer, you’re a part of our Project Engineering team developing intuitive, usable software and will play a key role in the development, testing and QA of software deliverables prior to release.
Specifically, the role entails:
- Work closely with teams like designers, project managers, and clients to understand requirements and contribute expertise in creating practical software solutions that align with user needs and technical specifications.
- Use your diagnostic skills to troubleshoot errors, debug code, and deliver solutions that ensure a smooth experience for platform users.
- Taking a written brief, or functional specifications document, and creating code to achieve the desired application frontend experience
- Working on custom functionality to ensure the UX is implemented well & acceptance criteria are met
- Testing and QA of any custom functionality including data capture
- Be comfortable participating, and at times leading, customer calls
- Play a role in our global production team to operate more efficiently, share customer projects and truly operate as a 24hr production unit.
- Review our existing systems, processes, and methods to identify areas where the technology and platform could align more with industry standards or best practices. This involves recognizing where things might not be up to par and suggesting ways to enhance them for a smoother and more user-friendly experience.
- Contribute to our knowledge repository by documenting common troubleshooting strategies and newly written code for future reference.
We think you'll be successful if you:
- Relevant Degree/Certifications or 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role
- Experience with HTML, JS and other web technologies
- An understanding of PHP and other web technologies
- Always interrogate the value of work and frequently suggest improvements
- Are a great communicator (written and verbal) and love a fast-paced startup environment
- Have a hands-on attitude and a proactive, problem-solving spirit
- Have an understanding of content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress, Webflow, Magento, Squarespace, Wix etc
- Have experience in using bug tracking software (eg Bugherd, Jira)
